First Impression Tent Team
Serve at our first impression tent

Commitment

Once a month for both services 9:00-11:10AM

Expectations

Greet, wave, and smile at people arriving at church.
Collect information from new guests and give out gift bags.
Walk new families into the appropriate building.
Answer any other questions they have.

Brew Crew Team
Maintains our coffee stations on Sunday mornings

Commitment

Once a month for both services (8:00-11:10AM)

Expectations

Arrive early (8:00am) to brew coffee
Set up and serve coffee before both services and help with clean up after second service.
Greet people and be helpful to all.

Shuttle Team
Drive around parking lot in golf cart greeting and offering a ride to desired building.

Commitment

Once a month for both services (9:00-9:30am & 10:30-11:00am)

Expectations

Safely operate gold cart through parking lots.
Pick up people who would like a ride.
Talk to people to identify if they are guests and drop-off/direct toward first impression tent.

Greeter Team
Greet everyone in our lobby

Commitment

Once a month for both services 9:00-11:10AM

Expectations

Greet, wave, and smile at people arriving at church.
Offer services: children's ministry, coffee, seating, LCG, etc.
Answer any other questions they have.
Clean and sanitize areas as needed.

Parking Lot Team
Welcomes everyone as they arrive on our campus.

Commitment

Once a month for both services (9:00-9:30am & 10:30-11:00am)

Expectations

Greet, wave, and smile at people arriving at church.
Direct parking as needed.
Pick up trash as needed.

Local Opportunities
Serve the church locally on a weekly, monthly, or one-time basis.

ESL - Serve weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm.

One-time events - Volunteer to serve at one of our annual church-wide events.

Global Opportunities
Engage the world with the Gospel through a church-wide mission trip.

Japan - Journey with us to Fukuoka, Japan to support a local church plant. We'll build relationships with university students through English conversation, using it as a bridge to share the Gospel and connect them to the local church. This is a unique opportunity to engage a culture with great spiritual need and make a lasting impact.

Mexico- Get ready for an unforgettable mission trip to Mexico, where we'll team up with local churches and IMB partners to make a vibrant impact! Our mission will focus on sparking spiritual conversations on college campuses, sharing the love of Christ with students, and diving into food distribution projects to meet practical needs sin the community. Join us for this exciting opportunity to shine God's love and make a lasting difference!

England - We recently took our first church mission trip to Liverpool, England to serve Cornerstone Collective—a growing partnership between IMB missionaries and local British pastors. Our team served five churches in the Merseyside area during their first-ever family of churches retreat, providing children’s and student ministry. We are excited to see how this partnership continues to provide opportunities for Northwood to serve in England.

National Opportunities
Engage our national with the Gospel through a church-wide mission trip.

Boston, Massachusetts - Come be a part of our mission trip to Boston as we partner with Arborway Community Church to serve and minister alongside their team. Each year brings new opportunities but past trips have included helping run free community basketball camp, handing out coffee and water at the local transit stations, connecting with and praying for local business owners, and more! Join us in making a meaningful impact in the Arborway Community!

Ogden, Utah - Join us for our mission trip to Utah as wek partner with Redemption Church to serve their local community. Our team will engage in outreach opportunities, help organize block parties or other community events, and support Redemption Church in a variety of ways. It's a great chance to make a difference and build meaningful connections.

WORSHIP/TECH APPLICATION

Our Mission
Northwood Kids provides a safe environment for children to encounter God and experience community so that they become equipped disciples who engage the world.

Prerequisites
Attend Northwood for a minimum of 6 months
Complete a Volunteer application & provide two reference
Pass a criminal background check
Complete Darkness to Light training within the first 6 months of serving
Meet with a children's ministry staff member

Our Teams

Kids Connect Team
Promote a safe & welcoming environment for kids and families during arrival and dismissal.

Commitment

Two or more weeks per month (Sundays: 9:15am & 10:45am, Wednesdays: 5:45pm)

Expectations

Assist families with check-in during arrival and dismissal.
Welcome new families and begin introduction to check-in and safety procedures.
Accompany new families to class and introduce parents to teachers.
Accompany children to and from classes during check-in and dismissal.

Nursery (Babies and Toddlers | birth - 2 years)
To care for and share God's love with babies and toddlers by building relationships with them and their families.

Commitment

2 or more weeks per months (Sundays: 9:30am or 11:00am)

Expectations

Provides basic care for babies and toddlers such as diapering, feeding, and snuggles.
Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as playtime, story-time, or songs.
Follow the Northwood Kids policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the children you care for.

Classroom Leader or Assistant (Life Connection Groups (2-11 years old), Wee Worship (2-5 years old), Children's Church (5-8 years old)
To prayerfully build relationships with children and families and lead (children) in weekly discipleship by teaching the provided curriculum.

Commitment

LCG - Sundays @9:20 or 11:00am - weekly for one year
WW & CC - Sundays @ 11:00am - 2 or more weeks per month

Expectations

Prepare weekly lesson using the curriculum provided.
Engage children in Bible study, prayer, worship, and corresponding activities.
Follow the Northwood Kids policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the children you care for.

AWANA Leaders (2-12 years old)
To prayerfully build relationships with children and families and engage (children) in weekly discipleship through games, counsel time, and Scripture memorization.

Commitment

Wednesdays (September - May) 6:00-7:30pm

Expectations

Engage and encourage children in their discipleship journey through Bible study and Scripture memorization in addition to games and other corresponding activities.
Follow the Northwood Kids policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in your care.
