The Train Wreck of Indecision

Jul 17
Dr. Sonny Holmes
Bad decisions can de-rail us, throw us off track, and eventually lead to total train wreck. As a result most of us sweat even the small stuff, and become entangled in the most insignificant decision making processes. Truthfully, a good many of us don’t know how to make good decisions. So, we end up being double-minded. This is not good. Today, we’re launching a series of messages dealing with decision making. Decide now to plug into each lesson! R U ready?

Psalm 37

Jul 24
Dr. Peter Beck
Jonathan Edwards once said, “Prayer is as natural an expression of faith as breathing is of life.” The Bible tells us much about how we should pray. This Psalm, Psalm 37, gives us a great incentive to pray. In it, God promises that there's a prayer He always answers. This Psalm tells us what that prayer is.

Two Facets of God’s Will

Jul 31
Dr. Sonny Holmes
God’s plan is infallible. In this sense His will is what happens, no matter what. God also has a desire for His creatures, a moral will that encompasses all of life. We humans exercise freedom in choosing how we will live and can therefore operate outside the desire of God. We cannot know the fullness of His plan unless He chooses to reveal it. Yet, His moral will is totally revealed in Scripture. These two facets of God’s will define life. R U seeking Him?

God’s Sovereign Will:  Hidden and Certain

Aug 07
Dr. Sonny Holmes
Humble submission to God’s sovereign plan should guide all decision making. We cannot know His purpose in all things because His sovereign plan is hidden from us, except where He has chosen to reveal it. Trusting His plan involves our acknowledgement that He will be glorified in all things, and that He will work all things together for our good. Surrender is the deal here. R U surrendered?

What God Desires For Us

Aug 14
Dr. Sonny Holmes
God’s moral will is totally revealed in Scripture. In decision making, we should search out His commands with genuine willingness to obey them. Jesus indicated that this would comprise a significant element of our commission from him, “…making disciples… and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” So, we can know and do His will. God’s Provision for Our Decisions

Aug 21
Dr. Sonny Holmes
Some decisions are not specifically addressed by Scripture. Yes, we are to be submitted to Him in all things, and know that we must honor Him in all things. Still, some decisions are not moral decisions, governed by Biblical command. In this case, God gives us wisdom to weigh our options, sort through the various alternatives, and eventually choose our course of action. Here God directs our path through His generous provision of wisdom. R U listening?

Good Judgements

Aug 28
Dr. Sonny Holmes
Other factors influence our decisions. Of course, there are God’s commands. Yes, He provides wisdom for assessing options, making choices. Today we’ll discover several other Biblical factors that can facilitate decision making and move us in the direction of living surrendered, obedient lives. R U willing?
